Just as in all areas of life there are developments that date back to ideas of shaping one’s life. Years ago the people living in cities have moved their shopping from the inner cities to the shopping centers at the edge of town. Whole inner city regions have lost their appeal. Supermarkets and discounters were built where there was available parking space. Especially in the Second and Third World malls mushroomed at the outskirts of fast growing large cities.
Ultimately, the principle of shopping experienced a revival through e-commerce ordering and post and parcel delivery services. Especially in Europe, customers discovered the shopping possibilities in factory or now even retail outlets. All these sources of supply, from worlds of experience to sparsely furnished halls, where the goods are displayed in every conceivable way.
Lately there have been developments to popularize shopping downtown. Shopping centers and supermarkets are losing appeal here and there. In other words everything is in constant flow and this also applies to shopping. Aside from the already well-known there is now also something called countryside shopping.
Countryside shopping, shopping in the country, this is how this could be understood. What is new about this type of shopping facility? Countryside shopping offers an accumulation of stores as we already know it from shopping centers. However, in this case it is mostly a matter of mono brand stores and flagship stores with a supply that ranges distinctly in the premium segment of the market.
Countryside shopping takes place in mostly scenic areas, easily accessible via highways, situated in a literally natural world of experience. That this often smacks of Disneyland is not detrimental to the cause.
The operators of such countryside shopping facilities sometimes try to praise this whole thing as an accumulation of factory outlets. This is not how we see it, because shopping at countryside shopping facilities is not as low cost as factory outlets. On average over the year prices are more at a level of regular stores in inner cities. However, in regards to design and other criteria the merchandise is up-to-date and of course best quality.
Countryside shopping combines cultured shopping with a corresponding atmosphere, the advantages of having parking spaces right outside the door, along with an excursion into the country where in other words business can be combined with pleasure.
Countryside shopping is basically free of noisy advertising, loud promotions and the racket a large city produces inevitably.
Countryside shopping combines the advantages of a wide variety of “markets”, where supply and demand meet.
We also see advantages in countryside shopping for the store owners. This principle offers the chance for a symbiosis of brand worlds and lively nature which creates a world of experience largely without anything artificial.
Countryside shopping permits us to shop in style which is something that meets the wishes of more and more people. Suppliers of luxury and premium goods can’t go wrong if they are open minded towards this new type of shopping.
